Our Privacy Commitment
Wire Solved is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your wiring calculations are your business, not ours.
Simple version: We don’t collect, store, or transmit your calculation data. Everything happens in your browser.
What We Don’t Do
- ❌ No cookies
- ❌ No external analytics or tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- ❌ No server-side processing of your calculations
- ❌ No user accounts or login systems
- ❌ No third-party advertising networks
- ❌ No selling or sharing of user data (because we don’t have any)
- ❌ No IP address logging for calculations
- ❌ No fingerprinting or device tracking
How Wire Solved Works
Client-Side Calculations
All wire sizing calculations happen entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter amperage, wire length, and other parameters:
- Your browser performs the calculations locally
- Results are displayed immediately
- No data is sent to our servers
Your calculation inputs and results never leave your device.
Static Site Hosting
Wire Solved is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. There is no backend database, no server-side processing, and no way for us to see what you’re calculating.
The site consists of:
- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files
- Educational content (markdown files)
- Static images (logo, icons)
That’s it. No dynamic server components.
What Data We Store Locally (On Your Device)
Wire Solved uses your browser’s localStorage to store preferences and saved designs on your device only. This data never leaves your browser.
LocalStorage Contents
Saved Wiring Systems:
- Key:

- Purpose: Allow you to save and reload your designs
- Who can see it: Only you, on this device
PDF Export Preferences:

- Purpose: Remember your preferences for convenience
- Who can see it: Only you, on this device
Basic Usage Metrics:

- Purpose: Help us understand which features are popular
- Who can see it: Only you, on this device
- Note: These metrics never leave your browser
Managing Your localStorage Data
You can clear all Wire Solved data at any time:
Chrome/Edge:
- Open Developer Tools (F12)
- Go to Application tab → Local Storage
- Right-click Wire Solved domain → Clear
Firefox:
- Open Developer Tools (F12)
- Go to Storage tab → Local Storage
- Right-click Wire Solved domain → Delete All
All Browsers:
- Use browser’s “Clear browsing data” feature
- Select “Cookies and site data” or “Local storage”
Clearing localStorage will delete your saved systems and preferences. They cannot be recovered.
Optional Feedback System
Wire Solved has an opt-in feedback system that you can use by clicking the thumbs up/down buttons after a calculation.
What We Collect (Only If You Submit Feedback)
When you voluntarily submit feedback:
Sent to our server:
- Your feedback rating (thumbs up/down)
- Optional comment (if you provide one)
- Optional email address (if you provide one)
- Calculation context (amperage, wire length, recommended gauge, etc.)
- Browser type and version (from HTTP headers)
- Timestamp of submission
Not collected:
- Your IP address (not logged for feedback)
- Your name (unless you include it in your comment)
- Any other personal information
How We Use Feedback
Feedback is sent via email to our development team. We use it to:
- Identify bugs and calculation errors
- Improve accuracy and recommendations
- Prioritize feature requests
- Understand common use cases
Feedback emails are stored in our email system and may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
Feedback Spam Protection
To prevent abuse, the feedback system includes:
- Rate limiting (3 submissions per hour per IP address)
- Honeypot field (invisible spam trap)
- Time gate (2-second minimum before submission)
These are security measures, not tracking mechanisms.
Affiliate Links
Wire Solved may include affiliate links (for example, on a “Recommended Tools” page). If you purchase through an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Important privacy note: affiliate links do not change our core privacy stance. Your wiring calculations still happen locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us.
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare Pages (Hosting)
Wire Solved is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect:
- Anonymous traffic statistics (page views, bandwidth)
- IP addresses for DDoS protection and rate limiting
- Basic HTTP request logs (retained for 24-48 hours)
We do not have access to individual user IP addresses or request logs.

jsPDF Library (PDF Generation)
When you generate a PDF export, Wire Solved loads the jsPDF library from a CDN:
- CDN: cdnjs.cloudflare.com
- Purpose: Generate PDFs in your browser
- Data transmitted: None (library is loaded once, PDF generation happens locally)
PDF files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. We never see the PDF contents.
GitHub (Open Source)
Wire Solved’s source code is hosted on GitHub. If you submit bug reports or feature requests via GitHub Issues, GitHub’s privacy policy applies.

Children’s Privacy
Wire Solved is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Since we don’t collect personal information from anyone, this is not a practical concern. However, if you are under 13, please use Wire Solved only with parental supervision.
International Users
Wire Solved is available worldwide. Since all calculations happen in your browser and we don’t collect personal data, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns.
The feedback system (if you use it) sends data to servers in the United States.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date.
Material changes will be noted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
Continued use of Wire Solved after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
Data Retention
Calculations: Not collected, so nothing to retain or delete
Saved Systems: Stored on your device until you delete them
Feedback Submissions: Email records may be retained indefinitely for product improvement
Server Logs: Cloudflare retains basic HTTP logs for 24-48 hours
Your Rights
Since Wire Solved doesn’t collect personal information through normal use, most data protection regulations don’t apply to our core functionality.
However, if you’ve submitted feedback and want it deleted:
Email us: wiresizefeedback@wiresolved.com Subject: Delete My Feedback Include: Date of submission and topic (if possible)
We’ll delete your feedback email within 30 days.
Security
While we don’t collect sensitive data, we still take security seriously:
- HTTPS: All connections are encrypted
- No user accounts: No passwords to be compromised
- No server-side storage: Nothing to be hacked or leaked
- Open source: Code is publicly auditable on GitHub
The best security is not collecting data in the first place.
Analytics
Wire Solved does not use:
- Google Analytics
- Facebook Pixel
- Any third-party analytics service
The only usage metrics we have are:
- Anonymous counters in your localStorage (never sent to us)
- Cloudflare’s basic traffic statistics (page views, bandwidth - no individual tracking)
We genuinely don’t know:
- How many unique users we have
- What specific calculations you’re performing
- Which learning pages you read
- How long you spend on the site
This is by design. Privacy first.
